Developer MachineGames has confirmed that the PS5 Pro version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will run in native 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled.
This makes the PS5 Pro version the best-looking and most technically advanced console version of the game, offering significantly higher visual fidelity compared to other platforms.
A Surprising Release for PlayStation
Despite being developed by MachineGames and Bethesda, both Xbox-owned studios, the game is officially coming to PlayStation 5 on April 17, 2025 (Farvardin 28, 1404).
Comparison with Xbox Series X
On Xbox Series X, the game runs at an average resolution of 1800p using Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS). In contrast, the PS5 Pro version delivers a consistent visual experience with fixed 4K resolution and high-detail rendering, providing smoother and more eye-catching gameplay.
Visual Excellence Praised by Developers
In an interview on the official PlayStation blog, John Jennings, production lead at MachineGames, stated:
“Experiencing Indiana Jones in true 4K resolution is the best way to enjoy the stunning details our team has crafted—from historical artifacts at Marshall College to the lush jungles of Sukhothai, everything is designed with care and passion.”
Critical Success and Future Content
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was widely praised upon its initial release last year, earning a Metacritic score of 86 on consoles and 87 on PC.
In addition to this success, MachineGames is working on a new story expansion titled The Order of the Giants, scheduled to release in 2025. Lucasfilm Games has also expressed interest in telling more stories from the Indiana Jones universe, suggesting future titles may be on the horizon.
Anticipation Builds for PS5 Pro Launch
With its stunning graphics and cinematic storytelling, fans of adventure games and next-gen visuals are eagerly awaiting the launch of Indiana Jones on PS5 Pro.
