The action title Stellar Blade was a massive success—so much so that it set new financial records for developer Shift Up. The game’s strong performance led to generous bonuses for the team, including gifts like PS5 Pro consoles. And with a PC version reportedly on the way, its popularity and sales are only expected to grow.
A Sequel Is Already in the Works
The development team is clearly proud of what they’ve achieved, and now it’s been confirmed: a sequel to Stellar Blade is in development, and it may arrive sooner than expected.
During a Shift Up presentation held on May 16, the company shared new details about its financial success, staff rewards, and future plans. On page 19 of the presentation, a timeline chart outlines ongoing projects, including Goddess of Victory: Nikke, a new title named Project Witches, and Stellar Blade itself.
Stellar Blade 2 Could Launch Before 2027
Looking closer at the Stellar Blade section of the document, two clear goals are highlighted: platform expansion and a full sequel. These plans are scheduled to be completed before the year 2027, which means Stellar Blade 2 could launch *anytime between now and the end of 2026.
Of course, these plans are subject to change. Delays and unforeseen challenges could push the release date further. Still, it’s clear that the sequel is actively being developed, and now it’s just a matter of waiting for an official announcement or teaser trailer.
