11 bit studios has officially confirmed that a new entry in the Frostpunk series is currently in development and is scheduled for release in 2027.
The announcement was made during the studio’s latest financial report on Wednesday, confirming that this upcoming project is part of their expanded development strategy.
According to the studio, this initiative reflects their focus on scalable, time-flexible game projects that are both financially viable and creatively ambitious. As a result, the next installment in the Frostpunk franchise has entered production and is expected to be delivered to fans as quickly as possible, with 2027 as the planned launch year.
A Return to the Harsh World of Frostpunk
While specific gameplay details and story elements are still under wraps, 11 bit studios has confirmed that the new game will continue to explore the post-apocalyptic world that Frostpunk is known for—where resource management, human survival, and morally challenging decisions are at the core of the experience.
The studio also hinted that players can expect the same high-quality storytelling and deep strategic gameplay that made the original game a standout title in the city-builder genre.
Other Projects in Development
In addition to the new Frostpunk, 11 bit studios is also working on another major game project, although this one is not expected to be released before 2029.
Meanwhile, the studio is preparing to launch two other titles in the near future:
- Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, scheduled for release this summer
- The Alters, launching on June 13 (23 Khordad in the Iranian calendar)
The Alters will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass, and will also release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
