Great news for fans of the Borderlands series — the release date for Borderlands 4 has officially been moved up!
The new installment from Gearbox will now arrive almost two weeks earlier than originally announced.
Borderlands 4 Will Launch Sooner Than Expected
Today, in a video shared by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford — which was quickly taken down but is expected to be reposted soon — it was confirmed that Borderlands 4 will now be released on September 11, 11 days earlier than the previously planned date of October 1.
Pitchford said,
“Everything is going according to plan. The game is incredible, and the team is doing an amazing job,”
explaining that the game’s strong progress allowed them to push the launch date forward.
He added with excitement:
“This never happens, folks, never! We’ve moved the release date up! You’ll get Borderlands 4 earlier!”
Upcoming State of Play Showcase for Borderlands 4
Pitchford also announced that a special State of Play event focused on Borderlands 4 will take place tomorrow night at 12:30 AM.
This event will feature over 20 minutes of new gameplay footage, including a look at:
- Weapons
- Abilities
- Missions
- And much more
He encouraged fans to tune into the official Sony and 2K channels for all the latest updates.
