PlayStation recently announced that it has provided strong support to Game Science, the developer of Black Myth Wukong, and other games during their development.
According to a report from GamingBolt, in a recent interview, Phil Rosenberg, Senior Vice President of Global Partner Development and Relations at Sony Interactive Entertainment, shared details about PlayStation’s support for major third-party games.
Discovering and Supporting New Franchises

Rosenberg first explained that the Content Ventures team at Sony has been excellent at finding new franchises and bringing them on board. They’ve discovered games like Stray, Genshin Impact, Black Myth Wukong, Stellar Blade, and more.

Rosenberg added that “there’s no one better than Christian Svensson and Shawne Benson” when it comes to spotting these hidden gems and helping new and emerging studios that are often hard to reach. He also mentioned that Sony’s third-party account management team and partner development team have given a lot of support to games like Black Myth Wukong, Stray, and others—since they’re usually the first point of contact for developers.
Platform Limitations and Release Delays
Last year, there were rumors that Black Myth wasn’t coming to Xbox because of an exclusive deal with Sony. However, a Microsoft representative later clarified that the delay had nothing to do with platform limitations. Earlier this year, though, the CEO and founder of Game Science confirmed that the Xbox version of Black Myth Wukong won’t be released—due to optimization issues on the Series S.
