Rovio has announced that the Angry Birds 3 animation will premiere in 2027, aiming to compete with new Zelda and Sonic movies.
This animation will hit theaters on January 29, 2027 (which corresponds to 9 Bahman 1405 in the Persian calendar) and continues the success of the first two Angry Birds movies, which collectively earned over $500 million worldwide . The third installment is being produced by Paramount , and famous actors like Jason Sudeikis , Josh Gad , Rachel Bloom , and Danny McBride will reprise their roles as the colorful birds.
In this part of the animation, alongside these actors, new faces such as Kiki Palmer , Lily James , Sam Richardson , Nikki Glaser , and Emma Myers will also join the cast. John Rice , the director of the first Angry Birds movie, will return to direct this film, while Turlo Vogt-Evans continues as the screenwriter for the sequel.
John Cohen , the producer of the animation, expressed that the production team is thrilled to collaborate with Paramount Pictures and feels honored to work with such an amazing cast. He mentioned that the film brings together standout talents in comedy, which will undoubtedly add a unique appeal to the story.
The Angry Birds animations have been well-received globally, and their high box office earnings have prompted Paramount to pursue new sequels. However, competition in the world of video game-based movies has grown fiercely. For instance, the recent Minecraft movie has broken new box office records, and the third Sonic movie has enjoyed massive success.
Now, Angry Birds 3 is set to compete with two other big titles releasing in 2027: Sonic 4 and The Legend of Zelda movie. Each of these films has its own dedicated fanbase, making the competition in the realm of video game adaptations particularly exciting and intense.
