According to a report from Insider Gaming, the release of the action game Stellar Blade for PlayStation 5 marked a huge success for its developers. Now, the game is expected to launch on PC, potentially expanding its player base significantly. However, before the official release of this PC port, a group of modders has discovered references to multiplayer and co-op features—including split-screen support—within the game’s files.
Stellar Blade’s Free PC Demo Shows Promise
The current free demo of Stellar Blade on PC has been performing well, drawing interest from players and building anticipation for the full version. With the PC release just around the corner, modders have begun diving into the game’s code and data files—and their findings are raising eyebrows.
Modders Discover Hints of Co-op and Split-Screen Play
A post from a Brazilian fan page for Stellar Blade highlighted the findings of one modder who uncovered signs of a potential multiplayer mode. The modder even shared a video clip where a second version of the main character, Eve, appears on screen. In the footage, the display splits into two parts—indicating a local co-op mode with support for two controllers.
File Names Suggest “MultiPlay” Elements
Another modder shared screenshots of the game’s internal files, revealing multiple entries labeled with the term “MultiPlay.” While it’s still unclear whether these assets were simply leftover from internal testing or part of a future update, the discovery has sparked speculation.
At this stage, it’s unknown if developer Shift Up ever intended to release multiplayer features or if these files are just remnants of scrapped ideas. Nonetheless, fans are excited by the possibility that official multiplayer or co-op modes could be introduced in a future update or in a sequel.
