Bethesda recently launched its highly anticipated action-adventure game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for PlayStation 5, and early sales numbers are already making headlines. According to data from Alinea Analytics, the game has set a new record for the fastest-selling Bethesda title on Sony’s current-gen console.

The release marks a significant milestone for both Bethesda and MachineGames, as the game is outperforming its earlier releases on other platforms, including PC and Xbox.

Impressive Sales Figures in the First Week

During its first six days on PlayStation 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle managed to sell over 117,000 units—a remarkable achievement for a newly launched game.

In comparison, the game’s release on Steam showed about 28% lower sales during the same timeframe, with roughly 91,000 units sold.

This early momentum suggests that the PlayStation audience has warmly embraced the new Indiana Jones adventure, giving it a strong foundation for even greater long-term success.

Steam vs. PlayStation 5: A Growing Competition

Estimates indicate that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has sold around 310,000 units on Steam to date. However, with the PS5 version already closing the gap so quickly, it’s very possible that PlayStation will overtake Steam in total sales soon.

Some industry analysts even believe that if the PS5 version had been launched simultaneously with the PC and Xbox versions back in December, it could have achieved even higher numbers by now.

The current data clearly shows that PlayStation gamers have been eager to get their hands on this epic new journey with the world’s most famous archaeologist.

Xbox Players and the Game Pass Effect

While direct sales on Xbox may not rival PS5 numbers, Alinea Analytics estimates that around five million Xbox players have already played Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

However, a large percentage of these players likely accessed the game through Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service.

This shows how Game Pass can significantly boost a game’s player base, even if it doesn’t always translate directly into unit sales like on other platforms.

What’s Next for Indiana Jones and MachineGames?

MachineGames isn’t done with the world of Indiana Jones just yet. The studio is currently developing a story expansion titled The Order of the Giants, which is set to launch in 2025.

Details about the expansion are still under wraps, but fans can expect more thrilling adventures, challenging puzzles, and breathtaking new locations to explore alongside the iconic hero.

The success of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has paved the way for a promising future for the franchise, both as a game series and potentially as a broader media property.

Final Thoughts: A Triumphant Chapter for Indiana Jones

The incredible launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5 not only highlights the strength of the Indiana Jones brand but also demonstrates Bethesda and MachineGames’ ability to deliver a compelling experience that resonates with players across different platforms.

With strong initial sales, a growing fanbase, and exciting expansions on the horizon, Indiana Jones’ adventures are far from over—and the journey has never looked more exciting.
