CD Projekt has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will support Nvidia’s DLSS technology on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. In an interview with Eurogamer, the developers explained that DLSS integration aims to deliver stable frame rates and improved visual quality on the new hardware.
According to the development team, the version of DLSS used in this port has been custom-built for the Switch 2 and leverages Nvidia’s Tensor Cores. Moreover, DLSS will be supported across all operating modes of the console, including handheld, docked, quality, and performance modes.
In a statement to Eurogamer, CD Projekt noted:
“We’ve implemented a version of DLSS specifically designed for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, supported by Nvidia’s Tensor Cores. The game will utilize DLSS in handheld, docked, quality, and performance modes.”
In docked mode, players will be able to choose between two options:
- Higher visual quality at 30 FPS, or
- Improved performance at 40 FPS,
both rendered at 1080p resolution.
The handheld mode will rely on dynamic resolution scaling to maintain frame rate stability. In quality mode, graphical settings will target 30 FPS at 1080p, while performance mode may drop resolution to 720p to keep a steady 40 FPS.
Visual Showcase and New Features
In recent days, a gameplay video of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Switch 2 was released, showcasing its extensive visual settings. The footage demonstrated the game running in performance mode with HDR10 enabled, maintaining 40 FPS—a performance that could potentially put it ahead of the Steam Deck version.
Additionally, CD Projekt confirmed that the Switch 2 version will support motion controls and touchscreen input for actions like tapping, swiping, and zooming—features designed to improve inventory management and user experience.
Launch Title and CD Projekt’s Focus
This version of Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be a day-one launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. However, CD Projekt has not yet commented on a potential port of The Witcher 3 for the new console.
For now, the Polish studio is focusing entirely on ensuring a successful release of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
